PRESENTACIÓN
The study of political systems offers broad perspectives for analysis to
understand the dynamics of functioning and interaction of modern societies and
their forms of governance. Understood as a set of conditions, adaptations,
interactions, actors, and values, the concept of "political system" is a
category that emerges in systemic theories of social sciences, which has
managed to establish itself as a widely recognized analytical approach in
political science and international relations. This theoretical perspective
has allowed organizing concepts and presenting a specific qualitative and
quantitative analysis framework, with its own terminology and epistemological
autonomy for the discipline. Its relevance lies in the possibilities of an
organized analysis in typologies and classifications that facilitate
comparative work and the case study of different experiences of defining the
political in modern societies as a starting point for models of organization
and institutional power distribution. Hence, the topic demands both a
theoretical approach and a practical and experimental exercise to strengthen
the comparative perspective of political systems and regimes.
