LACP3 2019

The 6th Latin-American congress of Photocatalysis, Photochemistry and Photobiology LACP3 that will be held from 23 to 28 of september of 2019 is the continuation of a series of meetings that looks the collaboration of Scientifics all over the world in homogeneous, heterogeneous photocatalysis, photo-assisted chemistry and biology, materials, environmental and energy fields.

Previous events were made in Morelia (2012), Guadalajara (2013), San Luis Potosí (2014), Bucaramanga (2016) Guanajuato (2017) with great success and participation of international scientist of international recognizing.

Traditionally, the LACP3 has an special issue in CATALYSIS TODAY, in this opportunity, the event will be made in Bogotá D.C., the major city of Colombia, with more than 9 million of habitants, more than 30 universities with a rich cultural and gastronomical offer.

 

Speakers

  • Vicente Rodríguez González

    Vicente Rodríguez-González is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research of San Luis Potosi (IPICyT-Mexico). He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering (1999) and M.S. (2002) in Mexico City and his Ph.D. (2006) from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) in France. He was a visiting professor for a year at the Photocatalysis International Research Center at Tokyo University of Science and a Brain Pool Program Fellow (2015) through the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. He is the author of more than 75 scientific papers in the field of Heterogeneous Photocatalysis and Materials Science with biological applications. Dr. Vicente serves as Guest Editor of Catalysis Today, Hazardous Materials Journal and at the Editorial Board of the Chemical Engineering Journal.

    His research interests are focused on the Environmental Materials Science and New Nanostructures for Green Chemistry and Heterogeneous Photocatalysis.

  • Yun Hang Hu

    Dr. Yun Hang Hu is a professor in materials science and engineering at Michigan Technological University. He received his PhD in Chemistry from Xiamen University. He has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals with more than 2100 citations. He has served as a chair or co-chair for 13 international symposia. He is a program chair for ACS fuel chemistry division (2012) and for ACS energy and fuels division (2012-2013). He is an editor for ACS series books, a guest editor (or editorial board member) for three international journals, and a peer reviewer for more than 40 reputed journals.

  • Mehrab Mehrvar

    Dr. Mehrvar joined Ryerson University, Canada, in 1998 and he is now a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Dr. Mehrvar has a strong commitment to research. His main research interests include the integration of advanced oxidation technologies and biological processes for the treatment of water and wastewater as well as photochemical reaction engineering.

    Dr. Mehrvar has a strong commitment to education. He has taught several undergraduate courses including mass transfer, fluid mechanics, chemical engineering principles, chemical reaction engineering, biochemical engineering, food process engineering, engineering statistical design, unit operations, and general chemistry. He has also taught several graduate courses including advanced transport phenomena, advanced water treatment technologies, biological processes, water pollution control processes, and wastewater engineering.

    Dr. Mehrvar also has a strong commitment to research. His main research interests include the integration of advanced oxidation technologies and biological processes for the treatment of water and wastewater, photochemical reaction engineering, and improvement of feeding strategies for the production of high cell mass in fed-batch fermentation.

    Submissions

    Open from now until august 31.

     

    The template for the presentation in oral or poster can be downloaded from the link below. Download template.

     

    Please, send it as an e-mail to lacp3@utadeo.edu.co with the subject: ORAL or POSTER according with your preference.

     

    Oral presentation will be of 25 minutes with 5 minutes of questions. Poster presentation will have a 5 minutes presentation with no questions. Posters will be presented the 26 of September at the end of the season. Each participant has to bring the poster previously printed to the presentation site.

     

    Awards will be given for the oral and poster presentations.

    Registration fees

    * Registration fees are in US Dollars and a link will be provided in order to make the payment. This include one lunch voucher per day of attendance, coffee breaks, welcome kit, cultural activities wednesday to friday, and digital book of abstracts.

     

    Undergraduate and  graduate students can request support for housing after abstract acceptation. Best students abstracts will be excluded of registration fee.
